Garments and the Cloth Network
Every garment the studio can design is an addon garment inside mic_cloth_addons. This page is about where they come from, how your designs are saved onto them, and the network you can share them on.
The 89 that ship
Section titled “The 89 that ship”mic_cloth_addons/stream/ holds 89 garments, ready to design:
| Female | Male | |
|---|---|---|
Tops (jbib) | 13 | 10 |
Trousers (lowr) | 10 | 11 |
Shoes (feet) | 7 | 11 |
Bags and accessories (accs) | 4 | 6 |
Masks (berd) | 3 | 4 |
Vests (task) | 2 | 3 |
Arms (uppr) | 1 | — |
Gloves (hand) | — | 1 |
Accessories (teef) | — | 3 |
In the studio’s Library, switch Male / Female, search, or filter by garment type.
Save and Replace
Section titled “Save and Replace”| Button | What it does | When you see it on your character |
|---|---|---|
| Save | Writes the design as a new texture on that garment and keeps the original | Straight away |
| Replace | Overwrites the texture of the design you are editing, in the same slot | After you reconnect |
A Replace takes a reconnect because the game keeps a worn garment’s texture cached on your client and cannot swap it in memory. That is a limit of the engine, not a setting. Design with the 3D preview, and reconnect to check the final result.
Each garment has a limited number of texture slots. If Save says the slot limit is reached, restart the resource so it can compact the slots, or design on a different garment.
Adding your own garments
Section titled “Adding your own garments”- Put the
.yddfile inmic_cloth_addons/import/male/ormic_cloth_addons/import/female/. A file whose name already starts withmp_m_ormp_f_can go straight inmic_cloth_addons/import/— the gender is read from the name. - The file name must start with the component —
jbib, uppr, lowr, feet, accs, hand, teef, decl, hair, headorberd— and end with the variant:_ufor most things,_rfor most trousers. - Restart the server. Files waiting in
import/are picked up on every start;importaddonsin the server console does the same on demand and lists what it added. - Restart the server again if the new garment is not wearable yet. GTA only registers clothing at boot.
Processed files move to mic_cloth_addons/import/processed/. Duplicate names are fine: every garment gets its own ID.
Very heavy garments are refused on purpose — over 6 MB decompressed, or an embedded texture over about 3 MB — because they crash the clients that stream them.
mic_cloth_addons/fxmanifest.lua and everything in stream/ and metas/ are rewritten by the studio each time a garment is added. Do not edit them by hand.
The Cloth Network
Section titled “The Cloth Network”A shared library of designs and garment models between servers, built into the studio. There is nothing to configure — browsing, importing and sharing all work out of the box.
| You can | How it works |
|---|---|
| Browse | Designs by garment type, gender and sort (newest, popular, name, oldest); garment models by search |
| Import a design | Marked Instant when your server already has its garment: it opens in the editor and is saved to My Designs |
| Import one that needs a model | The garment model downloads first. Restart the server, then import the design again to finish |
| Share | Your design goes public, under your name or anonymously. Garment models you added can be shared too |
| Like and report | Like what you enjoy; report anything inappropriate, stolen or broken to the moderators |
Sharing a design uploads its images; if it says images are still uploading, wait a moment and share again. The studio only makes outgoing calls to the network — it opens no port on your server.
