Troubleshooting
The problems people actually hit, roughly in the order they hit them.
A change to the resource did nothing
Section titled “A change to the resource did nothing”restart does not re-read fxmanifest.lua. If you added a file — a new language, for instance — type refresh in the console first and then restart mic_boosting. Without it the server keeps the file list it already had.
The admin panel opens, but every tab is empty
Section titled “The admin panel opens, but every tab is empty”oxmysql was not started when mic_boosting started, so the database setup was skipped. Move ensure oxmysql above ensure mic_boosting in server.cfg, check oxmysql has a working connection string, and restart the server.
Using the tablet item does nothing
Section titled “Using the tablet item does nothing”In order:
- Is
mic_boosting_tabletregistered in your inventory? See 🎒 Items. - Is
Config.TabletOpenModeset to'command'? Then only/boostingopens it. - Is the server running standalone? There is no usable-item system without ESX, QBCore or QBox — switch to
'command'mode. - Has an admin banned this player from boosting in the tablet’s Admin tab?
“Not enough police online (0/2)”
Section titled ““Not enough police online (0/2)””Every class ships needing 2 police online before anyone can join the queue or accept a contract. Change Min Police Online per class in /boostingconfig → Classes (0 = no requirement).
If you do have police on and it still says 0, their job name is not in Config.PoliceJobs in config.lua.
Police never get an alert
Section titled “Police never get an alert”The alert goes to players whose job is police, sheriff, lspd or bcso, and only for classes with Police Alert switched on in the Classes tab. If your police job has another name, edit Bridge.PoliceDispatch in bridge/client_bridge.lua to send the alert through your dispatch resource instead.
No prompt on the car
Section titled “No prompt on the car”The prompt comes from Config.InteractionSystem:
'ox_target'(the default) needs ox_target running;'qb_target'needs qb-target running;'drawtext'needs nothing — walk within a few metres and press E.
If you are not sure which target you have, set 'drawtext' and restart.
“You need a Lockpick” / “You need an Advanced Lockpick”
Section titled ““You need a Lockpick” / “You need an Advanced Lockpick””The lock checks for lockpick on classes D to B and advancedlockpick on A to S+. Neither ships with this resource, so on ESX or ox_inventory they have to exist on your server and be obtainable. An EMP Jammer skips the check.
An error when the lockpick minigame should start
Section titled “An error when the lockpick minigame should start”The classes use glitch-minigames for the lock. Make sure it is installed and started before mic_boosting. If you would rather not use it, switch off every minigame for that class in the admin panel’s Minigames tab: the lock then opens on a simple roll, about nine times in ten.
The wrong framework is detected
Section titled “The wrong framework is detected”The console prints the one it picked on start: [MIC-BOOSTING] Server Bridge initialized. Detected Framework: …. Detection looks for resources named exactly qb-core and es_extended. If yours is renamed or starts later, set Config.Framework to 'esx' or 'qbcore' yourself.
On QBox, the console should say qbcore: qbx_core provides qb-core, so QBox is found through its QBCore compatibility. If it says standalone, qbx_core starts after mic_boosting — move ensure mic_boosting below it, or set Config.Framework to 'qbcore'.
Contracts are refused: heat too high
Section titled “Contracts are refused: heat too high”Heat builds with every job. At Max Heat (100 by default) contracts are refused until it cools; it goes down by Heat Decay per Minute for players who are online. Both are in the admin panel’s Settings tab, and an admin can set a player’s heat from the tablet’s Admin tab. Buying Fake Plates resets it to 0.
I edited shared/prices.lua and nothing changed
Section titled “I edited shared/prices.lua and nothing changed”That file is read only on the very first start, to fill an empty settings table. After that the values live in the database — change them in /boostingconfig → Settings.
A VIN-scratched car is not in the garage
Section titled “A VIN-scratched car is not in the garage”The car is written straight into your framework’s vehicle table: owned_vehicles on ESX, and player_vehicles in the pillboxgarage garage on QBCore. A garage resource that stores vehicles somewhere else will not see it — adapt GiveVehicle in bridge/server_bridge.lua. On standalone there is no garage; you keep the car in the world.
I want the default content back
Section titled “I want the default content back”boostingseed in the server console puts back every shipped spot, drop-off, class, car, guard setup, minigame, tool-shop item, setting and progression entry. It does not touch player profiles, MB, crews, contracts or market listings. It will not run from inside the game.
Everything is in English
Section titled “Everything is in English”Config.Locale in config.lua picks the language (en, es, fr, pt, de, tr, it, nl, pl, cs, ru). Anything a language file is missing shows in English rather than breaking.
