Troubleshooting

The problems people actually hit, roughly in the order they hit them.

restart does not re-read fxmanifest.lua. If you added a file — a new locale, for instance — type refresh in the server console first, then restart mic_itemcreator.

  • The ACE is mic_itemcreator.open. Check the spelling, and that your add_ace line uses an identifier you actually connect with, or a group you are really in.
  • The permission is checked a couple of seconds after you join. If it was granted while you were connected, reconnect.

Nothing works and notifications never show

The framework was not found. The bridge looks for es_extended or qb-core already started when the resource starts. Move ensure mic_itemcreator below your framework in server.cfg.

On QBox, start it below qbx_core. QBox is found through its QBCore compatibility — qbx_core provides qb-core — so there is nothing else to set.

The list comes from ox_inventory if it is running, otherwise from ESX’s registered items, otherwise from QBCore’s shared items. An empty list usually means the resource started before your inventory or framework — fix the order and restart it.

In order:

  • The item does not exist in your inventory, or has a different name. The Item Creator only adds behaviour; the item itself has to be defined. Use the Registry Tool to write the definition.
  • Your inventory does not run framework usable items. Using the item has to reach ESX’s or QBCore’s usable-item handler.
  • A restriction stopped it. A cooldown, a missing required item or the wrong job each show the player a message saying so.
  • An Animation or Attach Prop while in a vehicle. Both are skipped in a vehicle.
  • Check the console. A feature that fails prints ERROR executing client feature "…" and the rest still run.

The cooldown is stored in milliseconds: 60 is 0.06 seconds, 60000 is a minute. Enter it in milliseconds.

On ESX they go through esx_status, so a status resource must be running — and for stress, a stress status registered in it. On QBCore they are sent as the consumables:server:addHunger, addThirst and addStress events. If your HUD or status script uses different ones, change them in Bridge.AddFoodThirst and Bridge.AddStress in bridge/client_bridge.lua.

Other players cannot see my Always Attached prop

That prop is created on the carrier’s own screen only. A prop from the Attach Prop feature, used as an action, is the one everybody sees.

Only the player who placed it gets the pick-up option. With Config.Interaction set to 'ox_target' or 'qb-target', one of those must be running; with 'drawtext', walk up to it and press E.

FiveM only applies a key binding’s default the first time a player sees it. Players change it in Settings › Key Bindings › FiveM under “Cancel Item Animation”. Changing Config.CancelKey only affects players who never had it.

Config.ImageInventoryPath ships pointing at ox_inventory’s image folder. On another inventory, set it to that inventory’s folder as a nui:// path. The picture is looked up as <item name>.png.

I set a language and see keys instead of text

Section titled “I set a language and see keys instead of text”

The code does not match a file. The codes are en, es, de, fr, it, pt, ru, ch-zn and jp — not tr or ch, which the comment in config.lua mentions but which do not ship. The console says Locale "…" not found! when this happens.

The shared list is downloaded from GitHub when you open it. If your host blocks outbound requests, it stays empty and the console shows Error fetching network items.

Only Discord webhook URLs are accepted; anything else is refused with Blocked invalid webhook URL in the console. For a screenshot, screenshot-basic must be running.
