What it is
Section titled βWhat it isβmic_parrots turns birds into inventory items. A player uses the item, whistles, and a bird flies in from behind them and lands on their right shoulder. From there a small menu moves it to their head, lets it follow them through the air, or sends it away.
Fourteen birds ship with it: five that are already in GTA and nine custom models that stream with the resource. Every other player sees the same bird in the same place, and nothing is written to your database.
Key features
Section titled βKey featuresβ- Fourteen birds π¦
Crow, pigeon, seagull, cormorant and chicken hawk from the base game, plus custom macaw, parrot, falcon, vulture, eagle, owl, hornbill, sparrow and warbler models. - A real arrival π¬
The bird appears fifteen metres behind the player, flies to them, plays its landing and settles on the shoulder. - A menu with four choices ποΈ
Shoulder, Head, Follow and Dismiss. Moving between spots makes the bird take off, circle the player twice and land again. - Follow mode πͺ½
The bird leaves the shoulder and flies a few metres behind the player, keeping up as they move. - Seen by everyone π
The bird is a networked entity. Other players see it land, move and leave, and it goes away with its owner when they disconnect. - The item is not used up β»οΈ
Using a bird item calls the bird; the item stays in the inventory. One bird per player at a time. - Open key and command β¨οΈ
U or/parrotopens the menu. Both are set inconfig.lua. - Nine languages π£οΈ
English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish. - Open source Lua π
The config, the locales, the client and the server files are all left open to edit.
