Troubleshooting
The problems people actually hit, roughly in the order they hit them.
The resource will not start: “could not find dependency fmLib”
Section titled “The resource will not start: “could not find dependency fmLib””fmLib is required, not optional — the server side reads money, items and jobs through it. Install it, and put ensure fmLib above ensure mic_questcreator in server.cfg. The same applies to oxmysql.
“CRITICAL ERROR: FMLIB NOT FOUND!”, “ESX NOT FOUND!” or “QBCore NOT FOUND!”
Section titled ““CRITICAL ERROR: FMLIB NOT FOUND!”, “ESX NOT FOUND!” or “QBCore NOT FOUND!””Either the quest creator started before fmLib or your framework, or Config.Framework names the wrong one. It is not detected on its own: set 'esx' or 'qbcore' in config.lua to match your server, then check the start order.
On QBox, the value is 'qbcore' — QBox runs QBCore resources through its compatibility layer — and qbx_core must start before mic_questcreator.
A change to a file did nothing
Section titled “A change to a file did nothing”restart does not re-read fxmanifest.lua. If you added a file — a new locale, for instance — type refresh in the server console first, then restart mic_questcreator. Without it the server carries on with the file list it had.
/questcreator says I do not have permission
Section titled “/questcreator says I do not have permission”You need the ACE mic_questcreator.open. Check that the add_ace line uses the identifier you actually connect with (a Discord ID only works if your server reads Discord identifiers), or that your group line matches a group you are really in. Permission changes in server.cfg need a server restart; changes made live in the console apply straight away.
Saving a quest does nothing, or the console shows a table does not exist
Section titled “Saving a quest does nothing, or the console shows a table does not exist”install.sql has not been imported, or was imported into a different database from the one oxmysql uses. The resource does not create its tables on its own. Import the file once and restart.
The quest giver is not there
Section titled “The quest giver is not there”- The character had not loaded. Quest givers are created once your framework says the player has loaded (
esx:playerLoadedorQBCore:Client:OnPlayerLoaded). A multicharacter or spawn script that never fires that event leaves them missing; restarting the resource with the player in game creates them. - The model is wrong. A ped model that does not exist spawns nothing. Pick one from the list in the location editor.
- You just saved it. Saving refreshes every player’s NPCs; if one is still missing, restart the resource.
I can see the NPC but cannot talk to it
Section titled “I can see the NPC but cannot talk to it”Config.InteractionType does not match what you run. It ships as 'ox_target'. With qb-target, set 'qb-target'; with neither, set 'drawtext' and players press E within Config.InteractionDistance.
The quest car stays locked, or I get no keys
Section titled “The quest car stays locked, or I get no keys”The car starts locked on purpose. The player must use Search for Keys or Break In on it. Keys are given through fmLib, so fmLib has to support your vehicle-keys resource. If Break In needs an item, the player must be carrying it.
With qb-target or 'drawtext', those prompts appear as 3D text next to the car rather than as a target option.
The money reward goes to the wrong account
Section titled “The money reward goes to the wrong account”Give Money, Remove Money and money in a Reward Bundle always use cash, whatever account the node shows; there is no setting for it in this version. Check Money is the one node that reads the account you pick.
A Condition (IF/ELSE) node on “Job” never moves on
Section titled “A Condition (IF/ELSE) node on “Job” never moves on”Use the Has Job node for job checks. The Job option of the generic Condition node is not wired up in this version, and the flow waits on it.
The player dies and nothing happens
Section titled “The player dies and nothing happens”The death handler is per event and off until you switch it on in the event’s settings. When it revives someone, it does so through Bridge.Client.RevivePlayer in bridge/bridge_client.lua, which calls esx_ambulancejob:revive (ESX) or hospital:client:Revive (QBCore). If you run another ambulance script, put its revive event there.
The webhook node posts nothing
Section titled “The webhook node posts nothing”Only Discord webhook URLs are accepted; anything else is refused and the console says Blocked invalid webhook URL. For a screenshot on it, screenshot-basic must be running and Config.ScreenshotBasic must be true.
Community Events is empty
Section titled “Community Events is empty”The list is downloaded from GitHub when you open it. If your host blocks outbound requests, it stays empty and the console shows Error fetching community events.
Export says it saved to the root
Section titled “Export says it saved to the root”The exports folder does not exist in the resource. Create an empty exports folder inside mic_questcreator and export again.
I set Czech and see “Translation [cs][…] does not exist”
Section titled “I set Czech and see “Translation [cs][…] does not exist””locales/cs.lua ships but is not listed in fxmanifest.lua. Add it to shared_scripts with the other locale files, refresh, and restart.
