Troubleshooting
The things that go wrong on a first install, and what each one means.
A change to the resource did nothing
Section titled “A change to the resource did nothing”restart does not re-read fxmanifest.lua. If you added a file — a new locale, for example — run refresh in the server console first, then restart mic_arcade. For a change to config.lua, restart mic_arcade is enough.
No machines appear
Section titled “No machines appear”mic_arcade_propsis not running. It has to start beforemic_arcade; without it the cabinet models never load and nothing is spawned.- Every position in
Config.Arcadesis commented out. Out of the box only Pixel, Race, Tower and Road have one.
The machine is there but the screen is black
Section titled “The machine is there but the screen is black”- The folder is not named
mic_arcade. The screen loads its game from that name. - The player’s connection blocks public CDNs. The cabinet screen loads its animation and 3D libraries from cdnjs and esm.sh; Tower and Road depend on them.
There is no “Play Arcade” target option, only a “Press E” prompt
Section titled “There is no “Play Arcade” target option, only a “Press E” prompt”Config.Interaction must match what you run, spelled exactly as this script expects: ox-target (with a dash), qb-target or drawtext. Anything else — ox_target with an underscore, as some other resources spell it — falls back to the drawtext prompt.
“Not enough money” or “not enough” coins when starting a game
Section titled ““Not enough money” or “not enough” coins when starting a game”The machine charges its Price in Config.PaymentType. Out of the box that is 100 arcade_coin per game on every cabinet but DuoFight. Give yourself more coins, lower the price, or switch the payment type.
Nobody can get arcade coins
Section titled “Nobody can get arcade coins”The script only takes coins; it never hands them out (except as DuoFight winnings). Put arcade_coin in a shop, or set Config.PaymentType to cash, bank or both.
Using a cabinet item does nothing
Section titled “Using a cabinet item does nothing”- The item is missing from your inventory’s item list, or its name is different — the names must be the ones in Installation.
- The character already has
Config.MaxArcadesPerPlayermachines placed; a notification says so. - On QBCore, check the item entry is marked usable.
Placed machines disappeared after a restart
Section titled “Placed machines disappeared after a restart”Placed machines are kept in the server’s memory only. A restart of mic_arcade or of the server clears them, and the items used to place them are not returned. Pick machines up before a restart, and use fixed positions in config.lua for anything permanent.
I cannot pick up a machine
Section titled “I cannot pick up a machine”Only the character who placed it can, and not while somebody is playing on it. Fixed machines from config.lua cannot be picked up at all.
The leaderboard is empty
Section titled “The leaderboard is empty”install.sql has not been imported, so there is nowhere to save scores. Import it once. DuoFight has no leaderboard.
Someone is already on the machine
Section titled “Someone is already on the machine”One player at a time. If a DuoFight match is waiting for an opponent, the next player to use the machine is offered that match instead.
Text shows “Translation [xx][key] does not exist”
Section titled “Text shows “Translation [xx][key] does not exist””Your locale file is missing that key. Copy it over from locales/en.lua. There is no fallback to English.
